The highest-paid CEOs from these 46 states earned 3.2 billion dollars in 2018.

According to statistics, the median salary paid to the CEOs of S&P 500 companies Listed in New York Stock Exchange is $12.4 Million, Median Salary could be simply interpreted as the middle number or the average salary that does not fluctuate excessively high or low from the actual salaries paid.

1. Elon Musk – Tesla: $2.28 billion

Elon Musk received compensation of more than $2 billion from Tesla last year alone. Apart from the CEO, Musk is also the product architect in Tesla.

Musk is more than just a CEO, he is an investor, innovator and an entrepreneur who has founded many successful organizations. Musk is the founder of SpaceX, an aerospace manufacturer, and space transport services company, and is the lead designer there. Apart from that, Solar City (a solar energy services company), X.com (later merged with a bank and today PayPal) are among the companies Musk had envisioned and founded.

2. David Zaslav – Discovery: $129.5 million

The CEO of the Discovery Communications from Maryland, David M. Zaslav is the second-highest-paid CEO in the USA. He has been leading the Discovery since January 2007 and under his helmsman ship, the company has grown to become one of the major cable television brands in the world, with a presence in 220 countries with 3 billion viewers worldwide.

Prior to joining the Discovery network, Zaslav spent almost 2 decades in NBC Universal.

Zaslav has strategically expanded the brands under Discovery and merged and alliance with other companies to enable a rapid expansion for his firm, a feat which almost seems impossible for the rival competitors to match with.

3. John Legere – T-Mobile US: $66.5 million

A Massachusetts Native now living in Washington, John Legere, the CEO and the former president of the T-Mobile. He has received nearly 66 million dollars of compensation and ranks 3rd in our list.

Apart from T – Mobile, he has worked in various global corporations operating in the IT & Communications industry such as AT&T, Dell, Global Crossing and CTIA.

Apart from being an accomplished business magnate, in his spare time, Legere is a Chef! (Not kidding!) the show “Slow Cooker Sunday” air on Facebook live every Sunday. He has written a book of recipes recently based on the show and the proceeds from the sales of the book go to the charity “Feeding America.”

4. James Heppelmann – PTC: $50.0 million

James Heppelmann is an alumnus of the University of Minnesota and is the CEO and the President of the PTC. Heppelmann’s expertise lies in information technology and mechanical engineering industries, as he has worked in these industries since 1985.

Prior to joining the PTC, he was the co-founder of Windchill Technology, another technology company that was acquired by PTC in later years.

5. Lewis Bird III – At Home Group: $43.1 million

Lewis Bird, or commonly known as Lee Bird is the 5th highest paid CEO coming from the state of Texas. He is the Chairman and the CEO of At Home Group, a group of companies that operates in the retail industry with more than 5,000 employees in the USA.

6. Paul Saville – NVR: $39.1 million

With an estimated net worth of nearly $230 million, Paul C. Saville is the highest-paid CEO of Virginia. Before becoming the CEO at NRV, he had worked at Rockwell international and then joined and held various positions in Ryan Homes, the predecessor of NRV.

7. Brian Roberts – Comcast: $35.0 million

With a net worth of nearly US $1.7 billion, Brian Roberts is the highest-paid CEO of Pennsylvania. His salary from Comcast has now exceeded $35 million and as the CEO of Comcast, he owns 33.3% of the voting rights of the company as well.

Since he took the leadership of Comcast in 1990, the yearly revenue of the firm has grown from $ 657 million to more than $ 94 billion in 2017.

8. James Dimon – JPMorgan Chase: $30.0 million

Chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase, one of the big four banks in the United States, James Dimon is the highest-paid CEO of New York. He is one of the few bank CEOs to own net worth of more than $1 Billion dollars, a net worth of $1.4 Billion Dollars.

An alumnus of Harvard University, he worked in American Express, Commercial Credit and helped to form the successful financial services conglomerate, the Citi group.

9. Michael Neidor – Centene: $26.1 million

Centene’s CEO, Michael Neidor is paid nearly $27 million dollars and according to Forbes, one of the top 20 business people of the year in 2017. This was mainly due to his performance as the CEO in leading Centene to a rapid expansion in his tenure. Also, under his leadership, Centene became the largest Medicaid managed-care provider in the USA.

10. James Cracchiolo – Ameriprise Financial: $24.8 million

James Cracchiolo is the Chairman and CEO of the Ameriprise, a financial services company that was spun off from American Express in 2002. Under Cracchiolo’s leadership, Ameriprise has made strategic acquisitions and has expanded to India, where it is the first multi-billion-dollar company operating in the financial planning space in India.
